Congratulations to the Poakalani Ohana Quilters in Japan
It was an amazing show. 63 quilts in which 22 were new wall hangings and 1 large size quilt at their first showing. We are happy that the tradition of Hawaiian quilting will continue with these 22 quilting teachers in Japan. I hope to post more of these awesome quilts soon.
Leilani’s Garden is Blooming
After several weeks of delay Kay was finally able to layout her full size quilt. Designed in honor of her mom Leilani. So do you like it plain or with the flowers blooming in their vibrant colors?

Linda’s New Adventure
Linda’s next project. The Breadfruit-Ulu design. Hopefully it will live up to its tradition of bringing prosperity to one’s home. Design by John Serrao
The Amazing Pat….
Note from Pat: Here’s the latest…it’s called a “reverse” quilt because the pattern is actually cut from the top fabric, sort of like a silhouette, rather than the pattern being cut, then sewn on top of the fabric (sorry, I probably didn’t explain things too clearly, haha). At any rate, this is more difficult…
Everthing is coming up Tulips

Linda’s Poinciana
Great Job Linda….. First for completing an amazing quilt and second for using the color black. You brave soul. The Poinciana tree is found through-out the islands. They brighten the roadways and parks with their bright multi-colored blossoms.
Another Amazing Quilt By Pat
While some of us were taking the holiday weekend off Pat was still quilting away. Another amazing quilt by Pat. The breadfruit/ulu design. Legend says that anyone who finishes a ulu quilt they will not want for anything in life. Congratulations Pat.
Adding your special touch to that commercial design.
The fabric was so gorgeous that we just couldn’t waste it. So John added a lei to the Lei Kukui Nut Design from his “Mai Kalani Mai” Series of Patterns. Don’t be afraid to enhance your commercial design to make it yours. Thank you Rula for letting me share you amazing quilt.
